The price of AOL's stock is irrelevant to the issue before the FCC.

What it is relevant to is the issue whether AOL should consider the purchase of a cableco (with its stock) to ensure broadband access over cable lines. There's plenty of cable plant up for grabs to the highest bidder. They just don't want to pay to play.

AOL figures by pressuring Congress they can get a free ride over each & every cable plant. This idea is ludicrous. AOL would like to view itself as a regulated utility that deserves a connectivity presence on every connection to the home. This is absurd.

AOL must face reality. This is a competitive market. And if it wishes direct connectivity access over cable its just going to have to go out & buy it. The days of regulation & must carry rules are over for now.
