With Cyrix, MHz and PR rating is a big problem too.
PR366 vs AMD at 475 and Intel at 500 means <$50 M-IIs....
That means <0 profits.
Remember when the 6x86-PR200 was the fastest chip around? Even then, compatibility problems and heat were a problem. At over 100MHz (PR) less than the other guys, NSM is stuck at the bottom of the ASPs.
