Dennis, You're gonna hate me, but again you need to check with your broker... the margin requirements are set by the exchange, but my accounts are large and I don't pay attention to the minimal requirements..... That having been said, my best guess is that each contract's initial margin is about 15K with a 10K maintenance requirement, maybe someone else could give you a more specific answer..... you need a large account to make money in the futures markets... too many people try to trade these markets and are undercapitalized... they all eventually lose all their money..... If you can open with 50K and trade lightly, then you'll do well..... I'm sorry I'm not more specific than that, but that's what I know..... My Best. GZ
