Follow the leader
If you're bullish on Intel (INTC), bully for you, says InvesTools.com. A recent InvesTools Advisory quotes momentum investor Donald Rowe who says Intel will maintain its market stranglehold despite some serious challenges. He concedes the cheap chips from AMD (AMD) and National Semiconductor's (NSM) Cyrix have eaten away at Intel's market share and that the erosion hasn't stopped. But Rowe is bullish on Intel because the firm is, after all, the leader in the microprocessor industry. He says what the headlines don't tell is that both AMD and Cyrix are having trouble meeting demand and that means they're having trouble making money. Intel, on the other hand, dominates development of next generation chips and that gives it a huge lead in the high-end processor segment. Intel also enjoys a massive manufacturing capacity and its gross margins continue to climb. Rowe tells InvesTools he's doubly impressed at how Intel continually turns its technology leadership into products and profits. He calls Intel "One of eight must own stocks". Read the full story
