[e.spire Names MCI Veteran Glenn A. Klenk Senior Vice President of Operations]
ANNAPOLIS JUNCTION, Md., April 5 /PRNewswire/ -- e.spire Communications, Inc., today announced the appointment of Glenn A. Klenk as Senior Vice President of Operations, effective April 1, 1999. Klenk will manage field operations and oversee network installation and maintenance, including the day-to-day operations of the network management and switched control centers.
Klenk, a 23-year veteran of MCI with extensive technical and management experience, most recently served as MCI/WorldCom's Director of Technical Support Services. In this position, he managed multi-faceted engineering support services for the MCI and WorldCom networks. From 1994 to 1998, he served as Director of Customer Network and Second Level Technical Support for the MCI/BT joint venture, Concert Communications. He was responsible for establishing operating processes for pre-sale network design and new order provisioning and creating second-level support for the networks at the platform level, as well as for Concert customers at the service level. While at MCI, Klenk held other management and supervisory positions, spanning a variety of disciplines, including engineering, network design, technical support, field operations and customer control center operations.
