Creative accounting. Cendant may have used this model <VBG>! Reviewing, they put up $27.00 and $2.00 surreptitiously pocketed by the bellhop = $29.00. The room original cost was $30.00. It's a classification issue, and the missing dollar is nothing more than the difference between the $3 received by the sailors and the $2 pocketed by the bellhop. Done properly: The room cost $30. The clerk keeps $25. The bellhop keeps $2. The sailors get $3 back Total is $30. The error is in adding the sailors' net out of pocket ($27) to the bellhop's in pocket, because the sailors' out of pocket already includes the bellhop's in pocket -- i.e. double counting. TTFN, CTC
