You meant soared...but that's the point...on line banking when done right works big time. BUT!

Without a company like CheckFree what is it?

1) a way to see 24 x 7 of what you already did on paper..and instant statement? or

2) transfer money from one account to another with in the bank.

That ain't banking, that's account service....banking has been writing checks & making deposits for years....ie doing the things you do most often with a checking account digitally...that you do now by means of paper.....that's banking on line...and banks can't do that, not even NetB@ank without somebody like CheckFree.

Soon as that's figured out....
