AP--Zi has licensed their software for use in Ericcson wireless phones in China. Ericcson has had a lawsuit going on with Qualcomm over some patents. The lawsuit was recently settled, and the Chinese government has given indications that they were going the CDMA route for wireless phones (Code Division Multiple Access, rather than TDMA or GSM). Ericsson's existing infrastructure consists of sales of GSM equipment. If Ericsson had not settled and gained access to CDMA, they likely would have been frozen out of the Chinese market, making the Zi/Ericsson license worth a lot less.

So, the note, and recent developments for Ericsson in China are positive for Zi.

That's my take, anyway.

Best,
JS
