My father was European (Irish as you can tell) and his interests revolved largely around the works of Monnet, Rembrandt, da Vinci, and Van Gogh. Basically, he appreciated all forms of artwork dating around the Renaissance period, but he seemed to have a particular dislike of modern art. He was very selective in that respect.

He took me to the Louvre in Paris for the first time when I was 10 years old, and from that moment on, I began to more deeply appreciate art in general. Whenever I get a chance, I take up offers to attend gallery openings and other related exhibits around town, but I find some of the work to be too abstract for my liking.

My real interests revolve around classical music. A style of music I have listened too ever since I was 5 years old and probably younger but I can't remember that far back. Of course I appreciate all forms of music (except some Rap music hehe) but in the classical field, my favorite beyond a shadow of doubt is Rachmaninoff. Particulary Concerto #2 (C-Minor) which I consider to be his best work. I can also credit my father for exposure to this music, but I can credit my mother for my fascination with history and the fact that I decided to extend my undergraduate career by one year so I could load up on a few history courses that I found interesting. 20th century history remains my area of "expertise" if I can call it that.
