If you want us to say "Never Again" and mean it, why aren't we also in Rwanda, Indonesia, Tibet, and the dozens of other places where governments are killing their citizens indiscriminately. Heck, why weren't we on the other side of Waco?
From US News & World Report, April 12, a "senior military official" recalling the deliberations over whether to bomb said they predicted "If we bomb, we will eliminate Milosevic's domestic opposition, and he will become a hero. He will go into Kosovo and slaughter thousands of Kosovar Albanians and create thousands of refugees."
We knew this would happen if we bombed. We bombed.
We are responsible for the strengthening of Milosovic and the deaths and refugee crisis in Kosovo. We chose a course that we expected would lead to this.
Something to be really proud of. |
