Chamberlain was told quite clearly what the consequences would be if he took actions to stop Hitler. He listened and didn't do anything. WWII was the consequence.

Bullshit. We made it plain that we would not allow him to take control of the richest high grade oil fields in the world. He just didn't BELIEVE we would do anything about. Big mistake.

And you're right, actions have consequences as Hussein and now Milosevic have found out. They were both given reasonable options to avoid bringing destruction on the peoples and nations that they were responsible for leading. Instead, they both made conscious decisions to let their people pay the consequences for their own criminal acts in order to satisfy their own meglomania.

To blame the Serbian atrociticies on NATO is not only puerile, it's unbelievably asinine.
