Actually I was inferring that you were a green engineer regarding your simplistic anticipation that AMD should drop everything and produce solely K7's due to their higher ASP's/margins.

In general you are probably the most knowledgeable poster on x86 design/architecture issues - and based on your CPU tape-outs one can see why.

Regarding the number of CPU tapeouts that I have been involved in the answer is zero. ( Number of ASIC tapeouts is in 3 digits however).
Although I now no longer consider myself an engineer anymore.
