Indonesian Government Officials Meet at ProNetLink
PR Newswire - April 06, 1999 02:45

NEW YORK, April 6 /PRNewswire/ -- ProNetLink (OTC Bulletin Board: PNLK), (http://www.pronetlink.com), the Global Trade Internetwork(SM) and Portal specializing in global trade, announced today that top government officials from Indonesia attended a meeting at ProNetLink's New York Headquarters on Friday, April 2. The meeting was held to continue discussions that began in Indonesia on how the company and the government will work together to expand the use of the ProNetLink Global Trade Internetwork Webtool into Indonesia. The company had the honor of receiving H.E. Minister Dr. Zuhal, Indonesia's Minister of State for Technology and Chairman for the Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT), Dr. Dorodjatun Kuntjoro- Jakti, the Indonesian Ambassador to the United States, Dr. Rachmat Ranudiwijaya, Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia, and Dr. Ian Marceau, U.S. Advisor to Minister Zuhal.

During the 4-hour meeting many programs were discussed as to the promotion and use of ProNetLink in Indonesia. Minister Zuhal recommended that there should be immediate training seminars for top executives throughout Indonesia to demonstrate to them the power of ProNetLink. In addition, these executives will be able to submit recommendations as to the best ways to customize ProNetLink to meet Asian requirements for global trade.

A second major initiative recommended by Dr. Zuhal is to organize the young entrepreneurs and students that are, in his opinion, "the next generation of Internet savvy business people." Based on ideas generated and goals set at this meeting, special online programs are now being developed to attract and support this group. "These new developmental and marketing programs are the result of some wonderful interaction and can be introduced to the market very quickly," said Mr. Michael McGowan, ProNetLink's Director in Indonesia. Mr. McGowan will coordinate all government, sales and marketing programs in Indonesia.

"With ProNetLink's new offices in Indonesia I believe that we will be able to work closely with our government contacts there to make sure that ProNetLink is made available to the widest cross section of businesses, educational facilities and associations," said Glenn Zagoren, President of Zagoren-Zozzora, Inc., ProNetLink's Strategic Development and Marketing firm. "I am very impressed with Minister Zuhal's vision of the future of Indonesia and his enthusiasm for embracing new technologies. It's very exciting to see that the concept of ProNetLink is being received at this level around the world," Mr. Zagoren continued.

As for Indonesia's recent economic crisis Dr. Ian Marceau commented that Indonesia has been taking aggressive steps to reverse the current situation and all indications are that the economy is ready to start moving forward again. He concluded by saying, "ProNetLink can certainly be part of the solution."
