I couldn't agree more. Maher is a fine example of what you get when you combine moderate intelligence, rampant egotism and smug ignorance. He holds beliefs that have no logical value, but do go oh so well with Chardonnay and weekends in Aspen.

Of course, in the category of "People I can't watch on television without shouting at the screen" he's a close second to Allan Colmes. Now there's a 90's liberal if ever I saw one. Not only smug, but testy and obnoxious to boot. At least Maher is occasionally funny; Colmes is merely a prick.

What I don't understand is how the liberals can watch someone like that and not think "Wow, that guy's kind of a jerk." Must be that ignorance thing.
