The fundamentals remain as flimsy as ever, but the stocks have indeed continued to soar. Rising market cap has nothing to do with rising profitability in this sector.

In fact, since 99% of nasdaq companies do not pay dividends, there really is no connection between the share price and the company's prospects. (except in a buyout situation- but what about microsoft- never paid a dime in dividends, and is so large that no corporation could ever buy it- what the hell is an investor buying???? even my old econ professor couldn't answer that one)

Does anyone even care how ABSURD this situation is? If the company's stock value has NO RELATIONSHIP to the company's future earnings (in the next 500 years, even) or assets, then the market is no longer a market. It is simply a casino where the chips are marked with AMZN or EBAY or YHOO.

William, or any of the bulls on this thread, I ask you to show me how such a situation can result in anything other than disaster for our economic system if it continues unabated.
