From my observations of other stocks on the TSE300 that were also offered on nasdaq, they did not have to sell any of the shares from the index fund. It's entirely independant as far as I know.

*EDIT* Holy cow.. $17.50 is disappearing REALLY fast! I think a single large order of 50k was in there and it just poofed and disappeared along with the rest of the 128k. Now at $17.70!
