Compaq Debuts Innovative Online Software Store for U.S. Small and Medium

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 6, 1999--Enhancing customer
choice for small and medium businesses, Compaq Computer Corporation
(NYSE:CPQ) today debuted a new, innovative Online Software Store on
Compaq.com which features more than 5,000 software titles that can be
digitally downloaded via the Internet.
The Online Software store is integrated into the Compaq.com Web
site and is operated by Beyond.com (Nasdaq:BYND). Compaq now offers
the broadest selection of digitally downloadable software titles over
the Internet to small and medium business customers in the U.S.

approximately 44,000 software stock-keeping-units (SKUs).
In March, Compaq and Beyond.com signed a long-term strategic
marketing agreement for Beyond.com to provide software and
software-related services as part of the Compaq Solutions Alliance
Program via the Web at compaq.com.
