I'm not in a position to determine whether or not someone is paid to tout or slam a stock, nor am I in a position to do anything about it if I believe it's the case. That's the SEC's role.

As for people who are overly positive or negative about a stock, so long as they don't engage in personal attacks or spam, I've got not problems with that.

A certain amount of off-topic is to be expected and I don't try to clamp down on it when it's within at least the limits of good taste. When I was a member of the site, others got into stocks because of my off-topic (but not incessant) mentions in threads in which I was very active and the reverse was also true.

I'm as mindful of "free speech" as you are, and try to be as noninvasive as possible. I'll typically step in only when it's really required for the sake of the community at large and/or when the Terms of Use are being trampled on pretty good.

The ice looks pretty strong where you are right now.

Regards,

SI Admin (Bob)
