I agree with most of what you are saying. To satisfy my curiosity I shorted 150 SSYS @ 20. So far I've made $150. Not much but it keeps my life interesting. I wouldn't have been comfortable shorting more. Unless something interesting happens, I plan to hold out until March.

While I agree that the announcement of the 8000 will spark interest in the stock, I believe any talk of a machine using metals is fiction. The best and most cost effective metal prototypers to date are generally available: NC Mills.
