Bioponic to Deliver First Shipment of Zinc Sulfate to Carus Chemical
SAN RAFAEL, Calif., April 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Steven M. Schorr, President of Bioponic International (OTC Bulletin Board: BPON - news), announced today that Carus Chemical Municipal Division of Janesville, Wisconsin, will receive its first delivery of zinc sulfate manufactured at Bioponic's MR3 Division located in Butte, Montana. Carus Chemical Municipal Division intends to use the product in its water treatment technology.
Bioponic is now in the process of shipping the first 20-ton tanker load of zinc sulfate to Carus, towards fulfilling annual requirements totaling more than five million pounds of the chemical product. Carus Chemical analyses have identified Bioponic International's MR3 zinc products (both in liquid and powdered forms) as being ''the most purified product with the highest quality.'' Phase One of the MR3 Montana processing facility is designed to process up to 1,500 tons per month a combination of both powdered and liquid zinc sulfate valued at more than $10 million per year.
Zinc sulfate (ZnSO4) is currently used in the plant fertilizer and animal feed industries, and as a corrosion inhibitor to meet rules on lead and copper in drinking water. Estimated zinc sulfate consumption is in excess of 120,000 metric tons per year and is valued at more than $100 million.
