With all due respect, Shtirlitz, a diplomatic solution was not found. Negotiations were held, but fell apart (to the best of my knowledge) when the fighting continued (between the KLA and the Serbs) and Milosevic refused a request for an investigation into the massacre of 45 ethnic Albanians.

Milosevic has shown no inclination to stop the killings. What sort of message are we sending to the world if we say "You can't do this!" and then say "Oh, okay, I guess you can"?

I think it was probably a mistake for us to start the bombings, but we're there now, and I don't think a sudden cease-fire on our side (with no guarantees of the same from the Serbs) is the solution.
