BOS' LYNK Ltd. Subsidiary and ShelCad Communications, Ltd. Announce VoIP Clients Enabling Superior-Quality Calls

MISGAV, Israel--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 6, 1999--Lynk Ltd., a subsidiary of Better On-line Solutions (NASDAQ: BOSCF), announces that it has teamed with ShelCad Communications Ltd., a leading provider of client-based VoIP (voice over IP) devices, to provide one-box client solutions for placing and receiving high-quality voice calls over IP networks.
Under the terms of the ShelCad and Lynk agreement, the two companies are providing fully-integrated IP telephony solutions based on their respective technologies. ShelCad offers the Lynk IP telephony software with their Hi-Phone product, while Lynk markets TeleLynk clients integrated with ShelCad's award-winning external Plug and Play devices. These comprehensive hardware/software clients deliver greatly enhanced sound quality and performance.
Designed for companies with branch offices, mobile workers, and IP call centers, TeleLynk clients serve as personal gateways for routing calls over any IP network and bypass long distance charges. Calls are made using a standard telephone, increasing voice-quality and avoiding the awkwardness and lack of privacy in using a computer microphone and speakers.
TeleLynk clients come in two versions. The TeleLynk CTI client is an external Plug and Play device connecting a user's existing telephone to a PC, and through the PC's serial port to the IP network. The second TeleLynk client product, powered by ShelCad's Hi-Phone PCMCIA, connects laptops to regular analog telephones. Based on standards from the ITU, TeleLynk provides superb full-duplex voice over data networks or leased lines using minimal bandwidth.
