<<ask as to why they continue to allow the stock price to fall?>>

In today's stock market, the price of a share often has little connection to the value of the underlying company -- it is more like a consensual mass hallucination. A share price is based on what people --think-- a stock is worth. You could say that a stock's price is an imaginary number agreed to by a group of people.

I am glad that I am not one of those people who are buying EBAY or YHOO right now at their current prices, and are planning on holding them long term for their retirement.

I don't invest in stocks any more, but look for opportunities for short term speculation. I think stocks are overpriced and when this bubble pops, it's not going to be pretty. I am not comfortable leaving the fate of my finances in the hands of the people gambling in the stock market right now.
