Re: the new ATI Rage chip,if it only offers a 50% increase over the previous-generation ATI chips (it struck me that they didn't compare against anyone but themselves), then I'd have to conclude it's a serious non-contender for gamers. That's also probably why 32-bit color doesn't affect their performance. It's already so slow you can't tell the difference :) Still, they'll move lots of them to the uneducated masses. Sigh.....
