Robert Graham: sell the rumor, buy the fact
I have never heard that one, seems backwards to me...
<<<<<<<

It's taken from today's briefing.com commentary. The complete quote is:

>>>>>
Earnings warning season coming to a close, with actual numbers set to start rolling in next week... Traders
preparing for typical "sell the rumor, buy the fact" rebound.
<<<<<

"Typical" is a red herring and the key word is "rebound" It implies that the market went down on rumors of bad earnings, and will rebound when earning season is actually here.

Agreed it seems to go against common Wall Street lore... :>
