RTev, this whole MSN topic is my biggest concern when it comes to challenges that MSFT faces as we head into the new millenium.

It's a very serious and underestimated short coming that MSFT management has yet to fix. There is no time to waste in curing MSN's management void. This is the key to MSFT becoming the ultimate "hybrid internet stock". A position of power and valuation that few companies would enjoy.

For now, it remains a mystery why Gates and Ballmer have yet to successfully fix the problem. I am confident they don't underestimate the side effects of such ignorance.

Hopefully, once the trial picture becomes clearer, MSFT can get on with pulling together its real internet strategy. I think they've only scratched the surface in public as to what their real intentions are, yet I believe the trial is preventing them from getting on with it. This is the biggest reason that could push MSFT to settle. I can only imagine the pipeline of acquisitions they have lined up once the regulatory environment becomes a little more friendly...
