From your email address i would guess you work at Trident, are you looking to make the move to S3? What is your line of expertise? 85K sounds like a hell of a lot of money for a software engineer, with a 15K bonus to boot. 65K sounds more reasonable to me and that would be for someone with more than 2-3 years total experience. Do these engineers only have 2-3 years experience with drivers but more like 10 or more years total experience? Makes a difference. I am a software engineer who has worked all around the country in many different fields and i have a pretty good handle on what software engineers make. I know that there is a critical shortage of software engineers right now and that it is getting pretty cutthroat, but 100K is sounding a bit off.
