Bill, I often take my Mother to the track with me, and she doesn't make many demands on the betting. The only ones she makes are, "bet on Pat Day," at the Kentucky tracks and "bet on Russell Baze" at Golden Gate and Bay Meadows. <g> I will say, listen, Ma, I'm going to make a long shot exotic bet. You want in on it? "Sure, as long as you include Pat Day or Russell Baze." When I object, she thinks I'm just being obstinate. But I have a good laugh.
When I take my girlfriend, she always says "she wanted to bet on that one, but you didn't want to" about the winner after every race I lose. It is like dealing with the momentum geeks in the market.
I think the family that gambles together gets black eyes together. <g> |
