Paul,

Remember when I traveled to the January Global Partners Forum at Snowbird and I summarized what I saw and heard. It was Slitz that made the same type of "Novell is not ready for e-commerce" overtones to the audience. He brought up the "We must focus on Enterprise first and when the time is right we will look at e-commerce" type of message. The partners really didnt care for his message as I could tell from the puzzled faces and rumblings after he said this.

Now he is sorta saying the same thing in this interview. We are not sure how to position Digital-Me or how to market it. Excuse Me? How could a man in this position not know what to do with this technology and then even openly admit to the media that Novell, Digital-Me is a technology without a known purpose?

That was my fear about Novell's handling of Digital-Me last week and I am still nervous that Eric doesnt realize the damage that Slitz is doing by communicating to the media.

Eric has to pull the reins in and educate Slitz on the message and address the bigger problem of figuring out fast what to do with Digital Me!! I cant see this as a difficult choice, but Novell has been notorious for being too timid with taking advantage of great opportunities.
