What Are the Fruits of the Spirit?
Galations 5
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
How do you attain such?
24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
Who or what stands as our opponent to realizing this goal?
Gal. 5
16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
Although Satan truly remains our enemy, more often than not, we are the ones to provide him with the ammunition to do us hurt.
During the personal battles we must face in our Christian walk we can be filled with the fruits of the Spirit by God's grace. However the struggle teeters either way in direct correlation to our obedience to God's word or lack of it.
We indeed can be our own worst enemies. |
