I know all about speculative stocks...I speculate, then they go down. Occasionally I hit one that goes up and that makes up for the others. It gets in the blood, you know.
I picked up some ASTN today and, by golly, it closed up a little. That is a good omen.
I studied on this one a long time, almost too long, watching it go from 2 3/8 to 4 3/4. The prospects look good and hopefully with an infusion of some cash, they can reduce some of the debt. I have a feeling the deeper I dig the more I'm going to like ASTN. If so, I'll be anxiously awaiting a good dip every now and then.
By the way, I have my real money in mutuals and my play money in the small stocks. Like you, this is fun, and if I can make a living at this, I'd feel like a baseball player who got paid to play. But, till then, by day I'm with UPS and by night I'm practicing the art of investing.
