The real clarity in that article is the fact that Saddam is just fine with the US as long as he sticks to crushing his own and doesn't get any bigger ideas.. The fear that someone earlier said that he saw in the eyes of Ecuadorian peasants and others was genuine, but not because of fumbles by the US helping out with to much food , but with the US intentionally helping out the wrong guys... The good people from the US who genuinely try to help are constantly caught in this, what would appear to be a screw up situation.. Happens to damn much to not be true. IMHO Just like a lot of folks on here think that they are screwing up in Yugoslavia.. No Way-- they know exactly what they are doing-- exactly Scaring the living shit out of anyone who would dare to buck them or not bow to their demands... And that my friends is why there is fear in those eyes...
