As usual, I'm a Johnny come lately.

In any event, if it will get me on the shirt-tail of a CAS, here's my two cents worth.

Although by my own admission, most of my losses have been the result of my own poor decisions, there have been several occasions when placed orders were not filled due to E-TRADE's apparent inability to take care of business.

One example is the case of 40k+ shares placed as a limit order at .0625 where the stock ran for most of the day at .075 and the trading ran well over 400m shares. During this time, my order should have dropped since many of the buys were in excess of the 40k I had in the pot. Admittedly, this is a small cap BB stock and they are notorious for being mis-quoted and etc., but in this instance, the quotes were reliable and the trading was solid. My limit sell order should have happened, but it is my suspicion that E-Trade didn't even list it! Unfortunately, I probably have no way to prove or disprove that claim without access to their records.

This has happened several times with various stocks.

I will say that I've never had a problem with Market sells and buys, however. Call it luck, perhaps.
