Road Runner Hits 250,000 Subscribers

Road Runner, Reston, Va., the cable-Internet service jointly owned by Time Warner Inc., MediaOne Group Inc., Microsoft Corp. and Compaq Computer Corp., said it had more than 250,000 subscribers at the end of the first quarter. Road Runner said it will launch its service in the near future in several new markets, including Cincinnati, Houston, Orlando, Fla., and Richmond, Va.
