Internet stocks are held mostly by younger investors, according to the
Index of Investor Optimism, a joint effort of PaineWebber and the Gallup Organization.

Twenty-seven percent of investors under 40 have invested in Internet
stocks while fifteen percent of overall investors own or have owned Net stocks.

The Index also shows that investors with less than $100,000 in investable assets hold significantly higher proportions of investments in online companies. Investors with less than $100,000 report that 28 percent of their portfolios are invested in Net stocks, while those above that mark, hold only 10 percent.

What happens when if it starts to crumble?
