With the exception of Microsoft much of the software sector has been creamed. Some stocks to keep on your watch list for when this sector turns around. Nice money to be made. From Briefing COm

Computer Software & Services

Software group stunk up the joint again Tuesday... If you ever
wanted evidence that momentum swings both ways need look no
further than stocks such as Network Associates (NETA 21
15/16 -7 1/2), Keane (KEA 18 15/16 -15/16), CompuWare
(CPWR 19 7/8 -1 7/8), BMC Software (BMCS 32 1/4 - 9/16)
and Oracle (ORCL 23 11/16 -1 5/8)... Stocks off their 52-wk
highs by 68%, 69%, 50%, 46% and 42%, respectively.

Only stock to escape the wrath of bears was Computer Sciences
(CSC 58 5/8 +2 3/4).. No news of note, but stock has had
troubles of its own lately as it is 22% off its high..

Patient investors willing to ride out near-term trouble spots likely to
be well rewarded in a number of these stocks as current fears
exaggerate potential earnings troubles... But considering this is a
momentum market and the momentum here stinks could be awhile
before stocks come back to life.

Also the ERP software companies and WIND. All hit hard

Regards

Neil
