However, While what you suggest has a lot to do with SCH power, I believe that a lot has to do with this Internut craze...
Hard to "rationalize it" based on old measure standards... so it becomes a type of bet on the success of the Internet premise.
In the case of Schwab, I think the best of both world seems to apply.
In my eyes, there is a tremendous potential, largely untapped for crowds, and crowds of able (from the asset ownership point of view), around the world that would become active traders/investors once Schwab becomes a more established, recognized, and accepted in the eyes of these foreign investors/traders.
In addition, Schwab is not a recent, "on line" creation, it has a more established history and presence, (yes with some brick and mortar as some have suggested), so in case of an "inverted Internet craze" (i.e. a crash of the flying heroes), Schwab's more "conventional" face may give some protection, as tiny as it may be, to the potential down-draft.
I guess.... it is indeed a brave new world... so close your eyes, and buy... there is always a bigger [Internet] fool over the next hill.... (I hope). |
