Shall we do a bit of Smiting while we await the return of our resident ankle-biters?
The transcripts raise more than a few interesting questions about the Players. We've all read Gary Dobry's testimony by now, of course. The defense attorneys could have done a good deal more on cross, in my view, but I suspect they realized that the presentation of his SI stuff wasn't making a big hit with the judge, and so didn't bother. But wasn't it a bit of a glaring omission on Landish's part not to bring out the fact that Spidey's an AZNT reseller? Misleading of him to seek to give the impression that he was "just an investor".
And what about Robert Qualey? He appears still to be "officially" part of the AZNT legal team, but evidently he's no longer playing a role--at least not a public one--in the prosecution of this case. Why not? And why, although his name's come up a number of times now, has it not been made clear that until January he was an officer of AZNT, and is still a shareholder? The defense attorneys may or may not know this, but it's very likely that Judge George doesn't, and it is, I believe, an extremely important point. |
