Why does your statement remind me of Edmund Blake's "Evil triumphs while good men
do nothing."?

I believe it was Edmund Burke, not Blake. And the way I remember it is "the only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." Or perhaps that was JFK's restatement of Burke.

However, if you really believe that that principle justifies U.S. military intervention anywhere in the world that evil people are doing bad things, there is a LONG list of places and people we should be bombing. Some have been mentioned on this thread; many others haven't. Under Burke's principle, we are "allowing" monsterous evils to go on in hundreds if not thousands of places throughout the world. With our current military readiness we couldn't even drop a single cruise missle on every placle where evil is triumphing.

I prefer to listen to the Father our our Country, who said "no entangling alliances." Good advice then, good advice now.
