Borders acquires toy retailer All Wound Up
ANN ARBOR, Mich., April 7 (Reuters) - Borders Group Inc. said Wednesday it acquired All Wound Up, a mall-based seasonal retailer of toys and novelty merchandise.

Terms of the deal were not immediately available.

Borders said All Wound Up, which is known for its array of wind-up toys, will be operated through its Waldenbooks unit. All Wound Up will retain its retail brand name and will continue to manage the buying and merchandising of toys.

All Wound Up was founded in 1994 and has grown from two stores to seven year-round locations and 83 seasonal kiosks.

Borders said the acquisition is an extension of its strategy to expand its Waldenbooks kiosk business.

Shares of Borders were up 3/16 at 14.
