If you want to try something natural and effective that helps with arthritic pain eat lots of hot peppers. The heat in peppers contains capsaicin which apparently blocks pain receptors. You can also use over the counter topical capsaicin ointments for pain.

Build up your tolerance for peppers. Start with something mild like pasillos. Gradually work up to jalapenos. Then graduate to Thai. Now you're ready for the big leagues: habaneros. Always wear gloves when handling jalapenos and anything stronger. They are sheer hell on mucous membranes.
