What does AMD have going for it right now?
1. Overpriced P-III
2. Very good yields on K6-2...Most all over 400MHz.
3. They have a nice notebook chip.
4. They tried to wait until the end of the Quarter to (K6-2) drop prices so not to cannibalize Q1 earnings more. Gets Q2 off to a bad start but they are hoping the K6-III and some K7s will rescue
ASPs in Q2. Good luck.

Now, the bad news...
1. Margins on P-III exceptionally good.
2. Margins on K6-2s not so good,
3. AMD going through a lot of real estate to yield K6-IIIs at 450
4. Little help on ASPs from K6-IIIs in Q1
5. Charges will kill Q1 earnings (loses)
6. AMD will produce less than 5 million chips in Q1 due to taking FAB space away from the K6-2 back in December to dedicate to the K6-III and K7. Then add in CXT core problems. Took too long to yield K6-IIIs and no K7s till June.
So the K6-IIIs didn't pick up the slack.
7. No K7 benchmarks. Could be good or bad...but uncertainty.

Somewhere AMD will bottom, take a shot.
