Jock-I have no desire to take sides in the ongoing debate (except by my continuing investment in LSI which is my largest holding and 0 in the stocks on Dipy's list) but the chart you have posted dramatically points out to me the advantage in dollar-averaging into good securities rather than the all-or-none style that most investors practice. I don't have the time to compute the returns but intuitively the ranking of relative returns for an invesor who continued to dollar-average in the basket of Dipy's companies over time would have narrowed the gap because of the sibnificant volatility of LSI comparatively. I've enjoyed the discussion between you and Dipy and believe that each of you will outperform the bulk of "investors" because you each deploy a philosophy that should produce much better returns. It is imperative that each of us discover what will work for us, we simply don't have the same emotional, intellectual and environmental make-up to just copy-cat the proven success of Buffett or Lynch or whoever. (Jock or Dipy?)
I really like LSI in here-the scary part is you guys talking about 3.00/sh. before we've even reported the first positive quarter of this cycle! I'm especially nervous since this is the first time in the 2+ years that I've owned LSI that the stock lt trend is up and it's at a time when the overall market needs to correct.

Best regards,

Mike

P. S. It has sure gotten easier to be an LSI die-hard
