Seriously, I am greatly disturbed by several world events. One is the fact that former communist countries like Yugoslavia that appeared to have a handle on at least smoothing over thousand year old ethinic conflicts were destabilized. Second, why is this conflict more important than, say, the Kurds. Is it because we would arouse the ire of Turkey? Finally, why does the United States feel compelled to assume leadership in a European conflict?
