Bill and others, have you ever considered Information Advantage (IACO), a firm that has developed business enterprise software, also known by names such as Online Analysis Programs. The company went public a little over a year ago, is based in Edina, MN, and about 10 percent of its shares are held by St. Paul Companies, a large casualty insurer. Share price has run between 2 and 15, was 14 early last month when latest earnings were announced, then dropped to near 5, its current level. Company has a highly regarded product, known as MyEureka, which can search company databases, extract info, analyze it, and present it in usable form to a user at a particular workstation. It can be customized for each company worker who needs specialized information or analysis of the info.
I started following this company about a year ago when I was looking for Internet or Intranet firms that were distinguished from most in that they were making money. The software is being used by several companies, including FedEx and Dayton Hudson. People who have used the product believe it is more comprehensive and better quality than the competition, which ranges from firms like Oracle to Onyx Systems. Overall financial condition looks more stable than most, but, like SNDK, the stock seems to go nowhere. Any thoughts? Art |
