If you do not have a position in YHOO, most likely you are negative on the stock - so it probably is not an unbiased opinion. You certainly don't have a vested interest.

For example, I do not own any internet stocks (I don't consider SUNW CSCO INTC LU ASND internet stocks) but have held the opinion for a long time (and have been wrong consistently) that most of these companies (except AOL perhaps) are trading on hype and promise which will never translate into the billions of dollar in revenues that their current valuations imply. For some that do get to billions in revenues (AMZN, EBAY, etc) the miniscule margins will take care of the earnings. The rationale for this viewpoint is quite simple and obvious to me - I use yahoo numerous times during a day - never pay any attention to any ads there and have never paid them a single cent for the great search engine they offer. How are they going to make money off me, or off millions of page views that keep going up.

I know Yahoo longs will flame me for my opinion here (dosen't understand the business model, not just a portal company, not just a search engine, etc. etc. - so please save them.). But there is no denying that one can make a ton of money trading these stocks.

Regards

Alok
