Hi Bennett, I haven't seen the full First Boston report other then the abreviated highlights from first call. Obviously this is a strong positive and should encourage Eric Hecht of Merrill Lynch to get moving on his report. Clearly the value in Idec is from C2B8,YB28, CE9.1, and their pipeline of early stage drugs. I also believe there could be some real value in Idec's high yield gene expression of recombinant proteins. What we do know is that Idec has issued 3 license agreements[Genentech,Chugai, and Boehringer Ingleheim] and one remaining. It is very difficult to say how valuable these agreements will be since the potenial royalties are dependent on the success of each companies products. One thing Idec has been very protective of is to be sure this technology does not get into the hands of any potential competitors and this is the reason for only issuing up to 4 license agreements. What is exciting is that Idec is working on a second generation to this technology that could create more focus and attention to this particular technology. I know that there was no valuation for this technology in the earlier research reports and I doubt if there was any valuation in the First Boston report. Clearly this could be icing on the cake, of which could be another lucrative attraction for Idec.
