Paul,

Intel's market segmentation strategy has this effect:

1. No one can make money unless their product is significantly faster than Intel's offerings.

2. Without huge amounts of capital, it is impossible to build a product faster than Intel's offerings.

The fact that the FTC and DOJ have allowed Intel to blatantly abuse their monopoly position, stinks of incompetence and/or corruption.
