KHUL, Hi!!!
RE: Kemble, After a year and a half of looking at a part of my portfolio sitting & doing nothing in CPQ, I realized i was not being patient, but was bitter & refused to sell and not make any money! FINALLY, I realized what a stupid investment that was, it has affected my total return in a bad way. Sold today, not a nickle made in 18 months, but guess what? i feel much better owning more Dell, all the proceeds went to Dell. I hope the next 18 months are better.
Yep, during the Asian Contagion I was encouraged by my broker to buy CPQ for the short pop....well, I followed this "advice" and learned two lessons...First, listen to DELL management and not my broker...great guy...but, come on...if I'd taken his advice I'd own a fraction of the DELL I own today...Secondly, by selling CPQ and taking a loss I threw that much more money at DELL...You can imagine what that "left over" money has made since November of 97 :o).....On top of this I keep CPQ on an old up to date portfolio...it still is at a loss!!!
Owning DELL is a decision you and all will never regret...received two more messages tonight from friends that I have known for years that bought DELL...more and more are following it and are finding out they are missing the TRAIN...
Best, Kemble |
