Top Ten Ways to lose money with Waterhouse

#1 If a Stock has gone up more than 20% they won't let you put a limit sell order in.

#2 Late confirmations or extremely long lag times!

#3 The cash balance on hand is updated once daily! You have to calculate by hand to make sure you don't exceed the $$ and get restricted.

#4 Approval orders if the cash balance from yesterday is less than what you want to buy. Even if you sold $10,000 and have cash a manual entry has to be made in order to buy!

#5 Webbroken acts like a 9600 baud connection. Even with a cable modem. Response call Tech service! Response internet is slow!

#6 Symbol Changes take 1-2 weeks to complete before trading them!

#7 Some of the phone service people are not fully trained!

#8 Limit orders not filled because internal order desk is quoting higher prices than actual. Or they won't convert fractions to decimals on orders under 1/4.

#9 They only accept orders in fractions, and manually convert to decimals before placing your order!

#10 When you finally get someone on the phone they offer to buy for you at the $12 rate after the stock has already run up 50% because the webbroken wouldn't accept your order.

#11 Webbroker is designed to make money for Waterhouse. Not to maximize your chances of execution at a decent price with the actual available funds in your account.

Disclaimer: This is a humorous description of my experiences with Waterhose. It is in no way to be construed as a libelous or slanderous post. This writer makes no claims as to the accuracy of this list. It is written as a parody of the David Letterman Top ten lists and should be considered as humor for entertainment purposes only. Readers are cautioned that one users experiences with Waterhouse Securities may not be representative of actual conditions.

I'm moving my Waterhouse funds to my NDB account and activating the Mytrac account. I'm also considering AB Wately or MB Trading.
